Support The Agape House's Mission

We are not disadvantaged. We provide early intervention. We are assertive, encouraging respect for self and others. We take control, determined to use personal tools to survive and thrive.

  1. Our focus is on the individual. Black and Brown young women are disproportionately represented in the foster care system, the homeless community, the judicial system, the penal system, the poor, the pipeline to sexual trafficking.
  2. We are preventative. Our efforts are to break negative and adverse cycles; whether poverty, physical abuse, or systemic racism, we want to break it. We treat each young woman as if she is unique because she is.
  3. We believe we all are interconnected and interdependent. We believe that as the proverb states, “When you save one life, You save the world”.

Our First Mother Mentors

The Agape House is a BIPOC, faith-based agency that equips and empowers young, single women, often the subjects of systemic racism, are homeless or aging-out of foster care, by providing early inventions and holistic, culturally competent care. In doing so, we believe we are a great return on investment in the lives of homeless, overrepresented and underserved women, especially those aging-out of foster care. We are a agency whose mission is to be proactive, to reach the young woman before the streets do.

Agape house has been a savior in my life. I got my GED and went straight into attending Seattle Central College. I was seventeen at this time just about to age out of foster care. At the time I had doubts that a woman like me could really become successful.

Bette Tate-Beaver, Executive Director

I am writing to commend and affirm the tireless efforts of The Agape House on behalf of marginalized, at-risk young women of color who are in need of housing, education, employment and an opportunity to experience the “playing field being balanced”. Kiti Ward is an exceptional leader with amazing vision and determination to see change brought about through social justice. Agape House’s overt efforts to identify and recruit black and brown girls, to empower them through positive role models, training/education programs, group meetings, consistent affirmation, and now employment replete with a viable career path.
